How does the whole process work?
- Find your name. Search for a .ar domain. We check NIC Argentina’s records so you can explore your options.
- Tell us about your company. Choose your domain, share your company name and email, and pay the annual service fee through Stripe when checkout is open.
- We handle the next steps together. We confirm eligibility, registrant details, any documents needed, and NIC.ar fees with you before submitting the registration.
- Give your idea a home. Once NIC Argentina approves the domain, we help connect it to your website and coordinate future renewals.
Is .ar a good fit for my augmented reality project?
Making smart glasses, immersive displays, spatial games, or a new way to experience the world? You’re in the right place. .ar is Argentina’s country-code domain, and its initials also make a memorable home for an augmented reality brand. It works as a regular web address; you don’t need special glasses to visit it.
What do I need to get started?
Start with a domain idea, your company name, and a working email address. Before registration, we’ll confirm the company and registrant information, supporting documents, and any authorization NIC Argentina needs. You don’t need a finished website to search for your name.
What happens after I pay?
We email your payment confirmation and register your domain manually through NIC.ar within 24 hours of payment. We’ll contact you if we need documents or authorization, and confirm any registry costs with you. You’ll receive another email once registration is complete.
Can you help a company outside Argentina?
Yes—that’s who this service is for. NIC Argentina has a process for non-resident users, and we help coordinate the paperwork and registration. We confirm the legal registrant and our authorization to act on your behalf before submitting a request. Read NIC Argentina’s guidance ↗
How long does registration take?
We register your domain with NIC.ar within 24 hours of payment. Your confirmation email includes the registration deadline. Our team handles the process manually and will contact you if we need additional information. DNS activation can take additional time after registration.
What does the $100 annual fee include?
It covers our registration coordination, guidance on documentation, initial DNS setup assistance, and annual renewal management for one domain. NIC.ar’s own registration and renewal fees are additional; we confirm them with you before they’re incurred. Hosting, email, and website development are separate.
Does “no registration found” mean the name is mine?
It means our search didn’t find a registration in NIC Argentina’s records. The name may still be reserved, restricted, or subject to approval. A search or payment doesn’t reserve a domain—we confirm the result through the registration process.
Can I connect the domain to my existing website?
Absolutely. Keep your preferred hosting provider. After registration, we help set up the DNS or nameservers—the settings that point your new .ar address to your website. You can use it for your company, product page, or web-based AR experience.
How do renewals and cancellation work?
The $100 service subscription renews annually through Stripe. When checkout is live, you can cancel future service billing through the billing portal. NIC.ar renewal fees and deadlines are separate. Canceling the service subscription doesn’t automatically transfer, delete, or renew a domain.
